The parking ticket mechanic doesn't seem to change anything besides maybe giving you a little bit of experience points. The clue-system wasn't interesting or can be failed I believe. None of the dialog choices seemed to really matter. None of the extra mechanics are fleshed out though. Originally posted by genoforprez:I agree. This seems like a project that is admittedly scrappy, but I really get the sense they love Robocop and gave it their best. Having Robocop issue parking tickets is amazing. The shooting stuff is fine, but I think the RP, the investigation, balancing justice with public trust, having to choose warning or ticket and have that be consequential, and all of that type of thing, is what really makes this Robocop game interesting. I greatly appreciate that they put effort into the RP aspect of the game. If Bethesda is your measuring stick, then these characters and dialogues are more than fine. Maybe people's expectations are a little too lofty. Have any of them ever played a Bethesda RPG? These characters are equal tier or better in terms of their writing and acting and everything else. I absolutely don't agree with people badmouthing it for bad characters and writing. If people want to cry that it's not good in the sense of what shooters are usually like, well I say that sounds like a them problem. It plays more like an old light gun game, and there is more emphasis on quick draw. I think they made some interesting choices figuring out how to try and make that fun. Robocop isn't going to be ninja strafing and diving over tables. I don't think it is, but I wouldn't care if it was. That's not actually what Robocop is ABOUT though, and so to be honest, I wouldn't care if the combat was kinda garbage. I think if what people want out of a Robocop game is nothing more than a high octane dumb shooter, then possibly they are going to be disappointed. It did crash to desktop on me after a few hours of play, so there are probably some gremlins still in there, but overall I'd say it ran fine. I was playing it on a 3070 and autodetected settings. I had some performance issues when first firing up the demo (took a loooong time to start, then it was running sluggish as hell on just the title menu for a minute, and then it snapped out of it and ran absolutely fine after that.
